Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 August 2026
Draft status: These Terms are provided for product and legal review and are not legal advice.
Agreement and Scope
These Terms govern your access to watermarklens.com, its local character tools, account features, and AI text rewriting service. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement where you live. The account and AI services are not offered to children under 13.
Not Affiliated
Watermark Lens is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, Wenwen AI, OpenAI, or any AI model provider. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
The Services
The local self-check and character-cleaning tools run in your browser and use transparent heuristics. They are not official watermark or AI-origin detectors and do not guarantee accuracy. AI rewriting is a separate account feature that sends text to a third-party model provider and may be subject to plan, quota, availability, and input-length limits.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping access to your email, OAuth account, and active sessions secure. You must provide accurate account information and notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not share, sell, or transfer an account in a way that bypasses plan or usage restrictions.
Your Content
You retain your rights in text you submit. You grant us and our service providers a limited permission to transmit and process that text only as needed to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the requested service. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and that processing it will not violate law or another person's rights.
AI Output and Accuracy
AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing facts, names, figures, quotations, citations, legal requirements, and other important details before using or publishing output. We do not guarantee that rewritten text will be classified as human-written, avoid detection, preserve every nuance, or be accepted by any platform, school, employer, or third party.
Acceptable Use
You may not use the service to break the law; infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights; submit content you are not authorized to process; distribute malware; probe or disrupt the service; evade rate limits, quotas, security controls, or account restrictions; misrepresent AI output where disclosure is required; or attempt to remove or bypass a watermark or safety system. You may not use the service to guarantee or facilitate evasion of AI-origin detection.
Plans, Quotas, and Availability
Free requests are limited to 3,000 input characters and Pro requests to 20,000 input characters. Monthly or billing-period allowances, pricing, and other plan details are those shown at the time you subscribe or use the service. We may change prospective plan terms with reasonable notice, but changes do not retroactively alter a paid period unless required by law. Unused quota has no cash value and does not roll over unless the applicable plan states otherwise.
Paid Subscriptions
If paid subscriptions are enabled, checkout and payment processing are provided by Stripe. The checkout page will show the price, billing interval, taxes, renewal terms, and cancellation options before purchase. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the checkout terms or applicable law require otherwise. Refund eligibility and any trial terms must be stated at checkout or in the final paid-plan policy.
Suspension and Termination
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the service or others, comply with law, address payment failure, or enforce these Terms. You may stop using the service and request account deletion. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, continue to apply.
Third-Party Services
The service depends on third parties including Cloudflare, Supabase, Wenwen AI, Google, plausible.shipsolo.io, and, if enabled, Stripe. Their services may be unavailable, changed, or governed by separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites you choose to visit.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Watermark Lens and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from use of the service. Any aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Applicable law may give you rights that cannot be limited by these Terms.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
